As you may know, APTLA's first ever conference was held at the Delta St. John's, fifteen years ago this June. We are back at the place of beginning to celebrate fifteen years of networking, collegiality and work amongst plaintiff trial lawyers in Atlantic Canada. We have had many successes, but one of the most useful to the majority of Members is the quality of our education programming.
APTLA's Education Committee is putting the finishing touches on our upcoming conference at the Delta St. John's. Set for Friday afternoon, June 17th and all-day on Saturday, June 18th, we are covering the various medical aspects of personal injury cases. We will look at matters of human anatomy; medical research and consensus; disability and Chronic Pain; Medical and Legal Causation; the neuroscience of decision making; Cross-examination of Defence Experts; and preparing your own client for Discovery on their medical evidence. Further, we will canvas the inner-workings of hospitals, and the division of responsibility of nurses, doctors and staff. Finally, we will review recent cases of interest in this area. It will be a medical update for all lawyers preparing their accident/injury cases.
THE DOCTOR IS IN conference will feature:
• Updates from the APTLA Young Lawyers Section on SCC and CoA cases of interest
• Body Works for Personal Injury Lawyers
